As a mentee one outgrows the alumni network and seeks personalized mentoring in their areas of interest at some point. Even for those mentees who enter the workforce they often seek guidance in charting out a path ahead for them.
We strive to achieve a partnership of trust by facilitating transparency in the mentor and mentee relationship. Our advisors act as key strategists in ensuring that each mentor and mentee pair develops trust in their partnership.
Our mentors are ingrained in our methodology to encourage and remind our mentees to come up with questions before every meeting. We work with our mentees where needed in visualizing mentor communication to achieve a comfort zone.
The most successful leaders are often the ones who actively seek feedback and advice from the people around them. In fact, seeking feedback on your performance is a critical step on the path to developing executive presence.
At WINGS we believe in giving feedback through our well-developed mentoring framework that nurtures and cultivates fundamental qualities of a leader that engage, inspire, align, and move our mentees to act.
What does it take to be a WINGS mentee?
- College students or women just entering the workforce
- Strong desire to learn from a mentoring relationship
- Positive attitude
- Ability to listen
- Openness to learning; and be open to alternative options
- Sense of humor
- Ability to accept constructive criticism/ feedback
- Willing and able to commit to meet with the mentor on a regular basis.
